StopNCII.org is a no-cost resource that aims to aid those affected by Non-Consensual Intimate Image (NCII) exploitation. The tool operates by generating a hash, or a unique identification code, for your private image(s)/video(s). Image hashing involves utilizing an algorithm to assign a distinct code to an image, making duplicate copies of the image have identical hash values. This is often referred to as a “digital fingerprint”. StopNCII.org then collaborates with partnering companies to share the hash, assisting in detecting and eliminating images from online circulation.
When an image is uploaded to a platform that is part of the program, and it matches the corresponding hash while meeting the partner policy guidelines, the platform will send the image for review. In the event that the image is deemed intimate in nature, it will be taken down and barred from being shared on any other platform partnering with StopNCII.org. StopNCII.org has partnered with Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, Bumble and OnlyFans. With an over 90% removal rate, they have successfully removed over 200,000 individual non-consensual intimate images from the internet.
